Compliance & Lab Results

Every batch of Sober Sativas flower is independently tested. Federally legal. Always.

Last updated: March 31, 2026

Our compliance commitment

Sober Sativas products are grown and sold in full compliance with the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 (the 2018 Farm Bill), which establishes the federal framework for hemp-derived products in the United States. All flower we sell contains less than 0.3% delta-9 THC by dry weight — the federal legal threshold — as confirmed by third-party lab testing on every batch.

We do not rely on the grower's word. We test. Every batch, every harvest.

What is a Certificate of Analysis (COA)?

A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is a document issued by an accredited third-party laboratory that reports the results of testing on a specific product batch. For hemp flower, a COA confirms:

  • Cannabinoid profile — exact percentages of CBG, CBD, delta-9 THC, and other cannabinoids present in the batch.
  • Total THC — the combined delta-9 THC and THCA content, confirming the product is below the 0.3% federal threshold.
  • Pesticide screening — confirms the product is free of restricted pesticides and herbicides.
  • Heavy metals — screens for lead, mercury, cadmium, and arsenic.
  • Microbials — confirms the absence of dangerous mold, yeast, or bacteria at unsafe levels.

The COA connects a specific batch — identified by batch number — to a specific test result from a specific lab. When you buy from Sober Sativas, you can trace exactly what you are smoking back to its lab report.

Farm Bill compliance statement

Sober Sativas is a hemp products retailer operating in compliance with the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 (2018 Farm Bill), 7 U.S.C. § 1639o et seq. All products sold on this site are derived from hemp plants containing no more than 0.3% delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) on a dry weight basis, as confirmed by accredited third-party laboratory testing conducted on each harvest batch.

Sober Sativas operates as a sales channel of Total Hemp Consumables, a licensed hemp retailer. Products are sourced from Lifestyle Family Farms, Grass Lake, Michigan — a licensed hemp cultivator operating under the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) hemp program.

2026 regulatory readiness

P.L. 119-37, effective November 2026, establishes a 0.4mg total THC cap per hemp product serving. CBG flower is structurally well-positioned for this regulation: because CBG is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid and our flower is grown specifically for low-THC content, our products are already on track to meet the 2026 standard — no reformulation required.

This is one of the reasons we focused on CBG flower. While much of the CBD market faces significant reformulation pressure from the 2026 rule, Sober Sativas products are built to remain compliant on both sides of that date.

State-by-state shipping

Hemp laws vary by state. A small number of states have enacted restrictions on smokable hemp products regardless of cannabinoid profile. We maintain an up-to-date shipping status for all 50 US states.
